Original lacquer - replace all pads with Prescision pads, flat metal resonator and regulation. This Martin came out great - it's fast and flexible.
Bundy Flute repairs
Client Concern: "sticking key" On play testing, this instrument would not play much below E - several right hand pads were leakers. When coupled with uneven action and mechanical noise - not much fun to play.
Repairs: new D pad, iron several wrinkled pads, shim D/E pads, lower G key action, quiet thumb B with new felt and cork, oil, regulate
Gemeinhardt 3 Flute
1987 Gemeinhardt 3 Silver Plate Flute Serial #3752xx
After completing repairs to her instrument my client was thrilled with the results which transformed an unplayable horn to an open and free playing instrument. Over the entire scale the flute ended up with a nicely balanced timbre.
One of my favorite parts of musical instrument repair is play testing, a Bach 2 Part Invention seemed a good fit, here flute is doubled with virtual basson:
