Cinderella

University City High School music director Daniel Shavers contracted with MCM for synthesizer programming and rental for their spring musical - an adaptation of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.

To augment the acoustic pit musicians, Cinderella is scored for 2 keyboard parts. Each part requires over 200 patch changes to be programmed and organized. Many patches required splits and layers and some notes trigger arpeggios. For the opening number, Prologue, keyboard 2 part, the performer plays single quarter notes with each hand. Each note triggers a quintuplet or 16th note phrase and when played together sound like this
